Housing Market Predictions
Are you still considering investing in real estate or are you just curious as to the state of your home’s market value in the near term? We admit that these days it’s hard to know where the market is headed. Some people will predict the value of property to go up only to see them come tumbling down again the next week. Some days we see an optimistic surge, some days we don’t. So what is really going to happen now?
Many people are weighing in on this and making housing market predictions so we’re going to go ahead and put out our own. Please remember that this is only our own opinion on the matter but this is something we put together based on what we’ve observed happening, the policies being set by the government and the market, and what we’ve also experienced in the previous years.
Housing Market Predictions
1. Home prices will remain unstable. Yes, we don’t know what is going to happen to the value of your homes near-term. Prices may not improve soon because we’re still seeing a lot of forclosures happening on the market which depresses the value of the general property market due to a supply glut of cheap forclosed homes.
2. Foreclosures will continue. Many people are still out of work, stimulus money is running out and the economy in general is still just barely puttering along. Without money to pay for their mortgages, more and more people will continue to have their homes foreclosed.
3. Government policies will continue to be muddled in bickering and we’ll not be seeing a strong push towards stability anytime soon. Give it some time after the mid term elections before we find any stronger policies being set to support the market.
We are living in changing times. We continue to believe that the housing market is still viable but only for selected properties. Not every property is gold now. Be careful what you chose to invest in and what kind of leverage you are going to utilize, if at all.
